Testimonials

"HOPE has helped me be more comfortable with myself. I had anxiety about school and the pressure of a regular school atmosphere. The people at HOPE have helped me change all that."
-Conner, HOPE student

"HOPE changed my whole perspective on the way I looked at life. I really think that my life would have taken a different turn if I had gone to any other school."
-Taji, HOPE Alum

"HOPE is like a family. The classes are small, so the teachers and mentors actually spend time with you and listen to you. Even the other students are easier to connect with because of the positive environment at school."
-Angelina, HOPE Alum

Mission

At HOPE Online Learning Academy, we see the potential in every student and are grounded in the belief that an accessible, inclusive online education can change lives and transform communities.

Founded in 2005, HOPE partners with community-based learning sites across Colorado to provide an educational alternative for students in grades 6-12 and is part of the free public school system. HOPE's blended model of online instruction with in-person support allows students to learn at their own pace, while also providing opportunities to participate in arts, sports, clubs, and school activities

HOPE's Mission and Vision

HOPE's mission is to provide a student-focused 6-12 educational program through a blended learning environment for students who are historically underrepresented in the online/blended education system. HOPE's model utilizes a community-driven educational system with a focus on attendance, affiliation, achievement and aspiration, which combine to enable our students acquire the knowledge and skill to become future leaders in the community. This unique model of blended learning via community-directed partnerships is predicated on a social change theory that if communities are involved in creating stakeholder-driven educational systems within local neighborhoods, then families and communities will be empowered to guide their children's educational pathways, thereby increasing student success.

The vision of HOPE is to provide a safe, caring and engaging learning environment that empowers students to grow academically, as well as social-emotionally.

Background Statement

HOPE Online Learning Academy Co-op was founded in 2005 as a concept that had never been attempted in Colorado: a public school with both online academic instruction and in-person support and resources-all at small, community-based learning centers staffed with community mentors. Since its inception, HOPE has graduated over 1,500 students.

HOPE's unique model of educational programming is predicated on a social change theory with a belief that if communities are involved in creating stakeholder-driven educational systems within local neighborhoods, then families and communities will be empowered to guide their children's educational pathways.

HOPE has expanded to serve 2,000 students at 23 community learning sites across Colorado-from Pueblo to Greeley and Aurora to Grand Junction.
