Help Ignite Build a New Home

I am blessed with an amazing, vision impaired daughter. She and her sister are the light of my life. Paula has always pushed to do whatever her big sister can do. Nancy is a skier. Paula never doubted that she would be a skier as well. Annette and I were there to teach Paula how to ski. Now we have to work to keep up with her.

Ignite Adaptive Sports has been around for almost 50 years giving folks of any age and with any disability the same opportunity. Operating at Eldora, the perfect teaching mountain, Ignite teaches skiing, snowboarding, cross country, ski biking, sit skiing with an all volunteer staff. Annette, Nancy, Paula and I have all volunteered as instructors with the organization. I am currently the President of the Ignite board, Annette runs the juniors program and Paula comes home from college in the fall to introduce new volunteers to working with the vision impaired community.

Ignite continues to grow. We currently operate out of two dilapidated trailers. We can only manage our current space for another couple of years. Will you help us build Ignite a permanent home? If a child with impaired vision has the courage to ski, a soldier with a brain injury finds the resilience to ski bike, or a mom with multiple sclerosis musters the determination to sit-ski, we can find a way to build them the state-of-the-art facility they deserve.

Working with Eldora, I have committed Ignite to raising almost $2 million. Eldora has committed the balance of the costs of the building. With our wonderful host mountain, Eldora, we are "moving mountains" to make sure this goal becomes a reality. Please give generously today.
