Colorado Alliance for Health Equity and Practice

A nonprofit organization

With your help we can help provide medical services to the poor, uninsured and all other vulnerable families who may not have other choices. We will support such urgent health related problems with free and low-cost services on a sliding scale.

Testimonials

CAHEP along with its primary care and dental care services has served over 50,000 uninsured and vulnerable families of Colorado for the past five years with community supported programs. It has linked people to various health and wellness services provided free and low-cost services to anyone in need. Family Medicine, Dental and Health Fairs are conducted in order to support integrated care services.

A pressing need for our health clinic would be the need for physical items. Office equipment such as chairs, file cabinets, and wall organizers are appreciated. Office supplies such as printer paper, paper products, paperclips, pens, and highlighters.
Other needs would be the need for volunteers who would like to gain experience working in a healthcare environment. Everyone is encouraged to contact us but we are in need of volunteers that speak different languages. A few examples would be someone who speaks Spanish, Chinese, Burmese, or Nepali. Our volunteers are what help us meet the needs of our patients and are greatly appreciated for the work they do in our clinic.

We are also in need of monetary donations. With the donations that are provided CAHEP can continue our efforts to serve those who are under-insured or uninsured and help them get the medical care that they need. Each $100 can support one person - poor, homeless or uninsured for medical treatment and blood tests.

Mission

The mission is to improve the health of Colorado's underserved communities through culturally and linguistically appropriate disease prevention, wellness activities, early detection of disease while addressing constraints due to social determinants, financial, language, access to care and cultural barriers.

Background Statement

CAHEP has served the uninsured and underinsured immigrant populations of Colorado and screened for chronic and infectious diseases. It aims to contribute towards the elimination of health disparities while directly reaching out to the immigrant and refugee population of Colorado. We acces such high risk individuals within our communities by working with the community leaders, people of trust and medical experts who understand their own cultural assets and barriers. CAHEP aims to create and maintain a network of stakeholders and various community groups working together in a culturally respectful framework in order to first understand the burden of a disease by evidence based screening and then reducing this burden by appropriate intervention including integrated clinic services for physical and mental health care. It is our endeavor to disseminate all relevant information on the web page and host numerous education articles at: www.cahep.org.
