Envision a thriving, resilient, and sustainable Denver where everyone has access to exceptional parks.

Denver has a long legacy of prioritizing parks, but not always in an equitable and sustainable way. In 2025, Denver was ranked the 10th best park system in the nation, steadily moving up in the rankings since coming in at 29th in 2019. While this is encouraging progress, we still fall short in equity, acreage, and amenities. Donations to the Denver Park Trust provide vital resources to preserve and expand our city’s top-tier park system.

It takes all of us to create vibrant and accessible parks.

In Denver’s 2025 Vibrant Bond Survey, parks were the highest priority for respondents over all other categories, with a resounding 79% of respondents ranking them as the highest importance. Despite being a top priority for residents, parks are often among the first departments to face budget cuts when financial pressures arise in the city.

With a proposed $11 million budget cut for the parks department next year, community support is more essential than ever to ensure our parks continue to thrive.

Your gifts last a lifetime.

Parks are where neighbors connect, where children play and learn, and where all of us can find a moment of peace in the midst of our busy lives. Your generous donation has a lasting impact that ripples through time, touching the lives of people, strengthening communities, and nurturing the environment for years to come.

Mission

The Denver Park Trust is the philanthropic partner for Denver Parks and Recreation, mobilizing support to fund projects that ensure every resident has a place to gather, play, and enjoy nature.

Background Statement

The Denver Park Trust was founded in 2019 by Denver City Councilwoman Kendra Black, and Denver Parks and Recreation Advisory Board member Frank Rowe to address the urgent need for additional park space and improvements in our rapidly growing city. Designed as a fundraising partner of Denver Parks and Recreation, the main mission of the Denver Park Trust is to leverage private and public dollars to improve our park system in an equitable way. As a nonprofit fundraising organization, we allow people like you, patrons of the parks, as well as local businesses, community leaders, and Colorado businesses to actively support Denver parks.
