$5,000 goal
Six years ago, I joined Ignite Adaptive Sports as a volunteer, providing adaptive ski lessons to children with autism or cerebral palsy and to adults recently impacted by visual loss and impairment. Being a part of Ignite is like being part of a family and like many families, we continue to grow.
Last year, 244 volunteers provided more than 1,000 winter sports lessons to students living with disabilities. All of those students, volunteers, and equipment mean we need a lot of space that our current "temporary" shelter can't provide. It's time for Ignite to build its permanent home to serve our students. Your donation of any level will help make this possible.
Your donation will be part of a larger grassroots effort to raise a part of the total funds needed for the building. The grassroots goal is $150,000, $5,000 (or more) of which I am raising. With our host mountain, Eldora, we are "moving mountains" to make sure this goal becomes a reality. The new building will provide:
A larger, safer space for our students and the adaptive equipment they need.
A less crowded and hectic environment for those with cognitive impairments.
Direct lift access by way of a bridge to the lift line.
- Program stability and commitment to the disabled community.
1,500 or more lessons each season.
With this building, no student will be turned away due to space constraints. Your donation can make a difference. Please donate today!
"The Ignite program is absolutely enhancing the lives of its fortunate participants, making what once may have seemed impossible, possible." Susan Roussos, mother of Ignite student with cerebral palsy.
