Sunrise Service Dogs is a Colorado nonprofit organization founded in 2020 by Heather & Colton Johnson. A well-trained service dog can make a meaningful impact in the life of a person with a disability, helping them achieve increased activity and independence. Sadly, many would benefit from a service dog but need help trying to obtain one. These challenges can include organizations that serve only specific populations, unattainable costs of obtaining a dog, and long waiting lists due to an overwhelming need and few resources. Sunrise Service Dogs expands access to service dogs for individuals with a disability.
