THIS IS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH WALK2CONNECT COLLABORATIVE

Since March of this year, the Walk2Connect Cooperative and the Spring Institute have supported a local Adult Daycare Center serving senior refugees through a weekly walk taking anywhere from 10-30 people.

Our weekly community walk is a safe, fun and uplifting activity that connects participants with the public, with nature and with their health. Considering cultural and environmental pressures to be indoors and sedentary, specifically within proximity to their daycare center, a walk like this brings life, healthy movement and camaraderie. It boosts mental, emotional, social and physical health.

Please consider sponsoring a pair of shoes ($45 per pair) for one of the walking participants to feel safer and more supported on our weekly walks! Shoe Carnival has generously offered to provide a bulk discount for the shoes. These shoes will also encourage the refugees to be out walking more in their daily life both at home and on other daycare days.
