Mission

To cultivate radically inclusive, compassionate, and empowered communities through trauma-informed, equity-centered work designed to drive sustainable change.

Background Statement

Resilient Futures is a non-profit organization founded in 2018. We focus on building resilient communities that promote healing and well-being through collaboration, education, and community engagement. We hold a central belief in the strength of creating meaningful partnerships that can collectively work to help individuals, communities, and systems thrive.

As a commitment to our Values, Resilient Futures utilizes a person-centered approach to support schools and youth-serving communities, and community institutions on their journey of becoming trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and inclusive of all members.

Resilient Futures has a strong commitment to equity. Resilient Futures was conceptualized and founded to expand the reach of trauma-informed practices while centralizing race-based equity. Our focus on equity has been our guiding light from day one and the lens of Cultural Humility grounds every decision, policy, practice, and both internal and external interactions. Cultural Humility is focused on the roles of both individuals and systems in perpetuating oppression.

Trauma-informed systems and organizations are based on an understanding of the vulnerabilities or reminders of trauma that historic approaches may exacerbate. Our programs help to increase awareness of trauma - race-based and otherwise, facilitate behavior change and develop necessary skills and tools to respond differently to trauma to sustain long-term positive outcomes.

Our Vision is building a culture where trauma is recognized, healing is paramount, relationships are the primary value, and equity is a universal goal.
