The Rocky Mountain Brassworks is a unique representation of Colorado history. Brass bands in Colorado date back to the early 19th century when there were over 2,000 brass bands in the state.
With our rich, full and dynamic sound, we are set apart from local concert and symphonic bands.
Mission: The Rocky Mountain Brassworks promotes the British-style brass band tradition, to educate and inspire young musicians, to enrich the musical experience of the public, and to provide a challenging and enjoyable musical environment for its members.
The Rocky Mountain Brassworks has been creating the beautiful British-style brass band sound for over 40 years. The 33 musicians of the band are all highly qualified volunteers with years of experience in music. Each member agrees to pay dues to be a part of this wonderful organization. The only member of the group who receives compensation is our music director. Our band members are not all professional musicians or music educators. Many of them come from various backgrounds with multiple ties to the community other than as musicians. Many have advanced degrees and include scientists, engineers, and other professionals both active and retired. The RMB performs formal concerts in the Denver Area with the goal of performing a style and type of music unknown in the area. The board of the Brassworks spends countless hours making sure that our prices for concerts are within the reach of most of the members of the Front Range community at large.
