Help Title 1 Schools Access Outdoor Education
When students learn about the outdoors, they discover more about themselves, deepen connections with their peers, and learn about conflict resolution in new ways. Title 1 schools in Colorado, with 75% or more of the student body living in communities from historically under-resourced areas, are less likely to have the resources to engage in outdoor education programs, as bus transportation costs $100 per student.
The 100 Elk Outdoor Center, a public program of the A/U Ranches in beautiful Buena Vista, Colorado, provides outdoor education and character development programs for schools and groups in the fall and spring. In 2024, 100 Elk served more than 1,800 participants, including 31 schools, but transportation expenses continue to present challenges for attendees. Our staff is committed to helping offset these costs to provide programs rich with nature and adventure.
We want to serve as many Title 1 students as possible, and we need your help!
