The Colorado Women's Golf Association (CWGA) was established in 1916 to promote women's golf in Colorado and preserve the integrity of the game.
100 years later, the original mission and objectives are still in force and the association is stronger than ever supporting girls golf programs, running clinics for new and beginner golfers, and holding tournaments across the state.
The Colorado Women's Golf Association's mission is to promote women's golf in Colorado and preserve the integrity of the game.
---
In addition to providing competitive golf opportunities, the CWGA seeks to help women and girls of all ages and backgrounds learn how to play the game in a friendly, non-threatening environment. The CWGA also partners with golf facilities to create opportunities for women to play the game in a social, fun atmosphere.
---
The CWGA's mission could not be carried out without the help of a core group of dedicated volunteers who assist the professional staff iin delivering various programs and services catered to women. The CWGA is always interested in welcoming new volunteers into the fold.
The CWGA seeks to grow the game of golf for women in Colorado by attracting new members to the organization either as Juniors, Affiliates, or Regular members of the more than 250 women's leagues throughout the state. By joining the CWGA, women become connected to the Colorado golf community and enjoy special member pricing to participate in CWGA sponsored events.

For nearly a century, the not-for-profit Colorado Women's Golf Association has existed solely to preserve, improve and share all that this great game has to offer with everyone in the state.
The organization is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Association operations are administered by four full-time staff members, one part-time staff member, and one USGA P.J. Boatwright, Jr. intern. Nearly 100 women volunteer for the CWGA serving on various standing committees.
The CWGA's mission is accomplished through the many programs and activities that it organizes and conducts. The CWGA is able to offer these different activities due to the help of the numerous volunteers that serve on the board of directors and/or committees. The committees include Course Rating and Handicapping, Junior Golf, Long Range Planning, Membership and Public Relations, Rules, Site Location, and Tournament.
The CWGA is comprised of nearly 16,000 individual members. These individual members belong to member clubs that, in turn, conduct their club events at member facilities. There are currently over 250 CWGA member clubs (private, public, resort, military, non-real estate). (Non-real estate clubs do not typically have a "home" course.)

There is no other organization in Colorado like the CWGA. Our purpose is simple -- to promote women's golf in Colorado and preserve the integrity of the game. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of women. Our staff and volunteers stand ready to assist women who want to: learn the game, meet others to play golf with, learn the Rules, establish a handicap to track their progress, or compete at the local or highest levels. Most importantly, we are here to help women enjoy all this great game has to offer. Your charitable donations help us deliver many meaningful programs and services. We sincerely appreciate your interest and support.

The Colorado Women's Golf Association has been in existence since 1916. With longevity comes the ongoing challenge of being progressive and remaining relevant to the women and girls we serve. Over the years, we have developed a wide range of programs and services for girls ages 7 to 17, and women in to their 80's.
The programs for youth and adults provide an opportunity to develop life skills focused on health, integrity, honesty, persistence and confidence. Girls who have participated at a young age have developed the skill to play competitively and earned scholarships to college. We keep the programs affordable so that parents and women can participate in multiple programs in a year.
Our success would not be possible without our collaborative partners; Colorado Golf Association, Colorado PGA Section, Colorado Golf Foundation, LPGA, Colorado Open Golf Foundation, Evans Scholarship Fund, and the United States Golf Association. We need your help to continue to grow women's golf in Colorado and to reach the thousands of girls and women who have not yet had an opportunity to experience the wonderful world of golf, and to continue to grow and expand our programs and services.

March 14, 1916, a group of eight women came together to form the Colorado Women's Golf Association. Those present were Mrs. Olyn Hemming and Mrs. Arthur Perkins (Colorado Springs GC); Mrs. Frank Bishop and Mrs. Charles Redmond (Lakewood CC); Miss Eleanor Bulkley and Miss Helen Wells (Denver CC); Miss Frances Moffat (Interlachen GC*) and Mrs. Edwin Morrison (City Park GC). During a meeting this group, representing five clubs, elected a president, adopted the constitution and bylaws, and wrote the association's objectives and purpose.
The stated purpose of the CWGA, unchanged to this day was: "To promote and maintain the best interests of the game of golf; to hold golf tournaments; and to promote good fellowship among member clubs". Also at this meeting, the site for the first CWGA annual championship was selected. The Colorado Women's Golf Association was launched.
