$75,000 Goal

Colorado Gives Day supports the Fund for Holy Family.

The Fund is vital to our school because all gifts made are unrestricted - infusing the school's operational budget with essential funds used for teacher salaries, sustaining our Catholic beliefs, and continuously improving our academic and extra-curricular offerings.

For the last few years, we have been aggressively trying to increase the salaries of our incredible teaching faculty. Did you know:

  • Holy Family teachers earn just 86% of what teachers in the surrounding school districts earn.
  • Although our budget provides raises, these districts have outpaced our rates by offering 8 to 11% increases.

This year, we aim to get our teacher salaries more competitively aligned with their counterparts in the surrounding districts. To accomplish this, our appeal this year seeks to raise $560,000 for the Fund for Holy Family.

We began this effort with a Week of Giving to kick-start the campaign. We hit our first goal of $140,000, our next goal is to raise an additional $50,000 on Colorado Gives Day – which will put us on the path to $560,000.

Thank you for your consideration and partnership in this endeavor; every gift matters, every dollar counts. We greatly appreciate your support!

Mission

Based on the teachings of Jesus Christ, Holy Family High School seeks to provide a Catholic learning environment that stresses academic excellence, fosters mutual respect, demands responsibility, and encourages self-growth.

Background Statement

Reverend Cornelius O'Farrell, pastor of Holy Family parish from 1919 to 1923 began building a school on the south side of the church located at the southeast corner of West 44th Avenue and Utica Street in north Denver. The grade school was opened September 1920 by five Sisters of Loretto. The basement auditorium of this fast-growing school was partitioned in 1922 to create a ninth-grade classroom. Thirty students enrolled, inaugurating what has become Holy Family High School.

Holy Family High School graduated the first class of ten young men and women in 1926. In 1999, Holy Family was formally incorporated and to facilitate a much needed expansion, moved from north Denver to our new home in Broomfield.
