One Colorado is the state's largest advocacy organization dedicated to advancing equality for LGBTQ+ Coloradans and their families. We work to close the gap between the legal rights and lived experiences of LGBTQ+ Coloradans in every corner of the state and ensure our voices are heard and represented within the halls of power.
KEY AREAS OF ADVOCACY
• CIVIC ENGAGEMENT
One Colorado offers opportunities for the Colorado community to unite through civic engagement by volunteering, supporting political organizing efforts, and building connections with fellow LGBTQ+ Coloradans and allies! Our work at One Colorado relies on our community bringing their perspectives forward, raising the issues that are most important, and uniting through our collective power.
• YOUTH & SCHOOLS
Through youth peer and leadership groups, One Colorado connects LGBTQ+ youth to diverse resources, opportunities, mentorship, and support. One Colorado’s team aids schools as they navigate inclusive policy and procedures to create safe environments for LGBTQ+ students while offering multidimensional training to youth, educators, parents, and other youth-serving organizations. We also offer guidance to local GSA’s across the state through GSA/youth summits, resource sharing, and collaborating with partner organizations to create a broader statewide support system for faculty advisors and students.
• HEALTH EQUITY
LGBTQ+ Coloradans too often face barriers to achieving a healthy life. While LGBTQ+ individuals have many similar concerns as the general population, like affordability, access, and quality of care, they also face unique challenges that affect their ability to live healthy and affirmed lives. One Colorado works to address issues like discrimination, stigma, and violence against the LGBTQ+ community that impact our physical, emotional, financial, and mental wellness.
• POLICY
One Colorado advocates for inclusive state, local, and federal policies that confront discrimination and advance equality for LGBTQ+ Coloradans and our families and communities. Our key areas of policy advocacy include LGBTQ+ Health, LGBTQ+ Legal Rights and Nondiscrimination, LGBTQ+ Older Adults, Youth & Families, Racial Justice, and Transgender & Gender Expansive Equality.
One Colorado Education Fund is dedicated to advancing equality and opportunity for LGBTQ+ Coloradans and their families. OCEF's vision is a fair and just Colorado.
As a statewide organization, we are dedicated to advancing protections and opportunities for LGBTQ+ Coloradans and their families. Our vision is a fair and just Colorado. Started in 2010, OCEF conducted a statewide needs assessment of over 4,600 Coloradans to better understand the needs and experiences of LGBTQ+ Coloradans and their families, and in June of 2016 we released our second needs assessment. This helped inform the organization's programs and advocacy to improve the lives of LGBTQ+ Coloradans. Our current programs include Safe Schools, Public Education and Organizing, and LGBTQ Health.
