Testimonials

Patricia Paschick
"This place was amazing. No cost to go, but can make donations. It is set up as a small community with actual historical buildings. The volunteer there took us around and explained everything to us. I highly recommend it"
Kaylee Peterson
"The Silt Historical Park is a great place to spend time with your family and learn about local history! It's free and so fun to stop in for one of the events/programs, or just to walk around the park and see all the wonderful structures and artifacts!"

Mission

We believe awareness of the richness of this region's cultural heritage and preserving the past provides the foundation upon which citizens can continue to build a successful community

Background Statement

The Silt Historical Society was organized in 1982, providing the groundwork for the Historical Park. The Garfield County School District donated seven town lots, and the Garfield Library Board donated the modular structure that is currently our entrance building. With these and other donations of buildings, artifacts, supplies, and volunteers' time, the Park was born.
