Together, We Can Create a World Where Neighbors Help Neighbors.
From raking leaves and giving rides to celebrating birthdays and sharing tech tips, our volunteers brighten the lives of older neighbors by lending a helping hand.
Your Gift powers A Little Help to activate a network of 4,500+ volunteers—people like you—who create meaningful connections and make aging in place possible for our older community members. These incredible volunteers help nearly 3000 older adults across the state.
Every day, more older adults are at risk of being forced out of the homes they have lived in for decades simply because they are aging. Your support not only helps our older members live independently in their own homes, but also makes all neighbors feel more connected.
“ALH has been wonderful for me because I am a widow and do not have family here. I am finding as I age it is harder for me to stay in my house without some outside help. ALH helps us seniors that may not be able to stay in our homes be able to. Our homes are a sanctuary and a safe place for us as we age.”

Mission
A Little Help is a Colorado nonprofit that connects neighbors to help older adults thrive.
We empower our members to age well in their homes and communities by connecting them with neighbors of all ages who volunteer to provide services, as well as companionship. Our volunteers help with tasks like transportation, yard and home chores, handy and technology help, snow shoveling, and care calls, while forging meaningful intergenerational connections.
ALH mobilizes nearly 4,500 community volunteers to connect with 3,000 older adults, making an estimated $30M annual impact throughout Colorado.
Background Statement
A Little Help began in 2005 when a group of retirees recognized the desire of many older adults in the area to age well in their own homes. These neighbors based their model on the national village movement, where neighbors coordinate and deliver vital services within the community.
In 2007, A Little Help (formerly Washington Park Cares) incorporated as a 501(c)(3) to provide older adults with non-medical services and social supports essential to maintaining active, productive lives.
Since our founding, A Little Help has grown to build connections among neighbors in three locations throughout the state: Metro Denver, Northern Colorado, and the Western Slope.
