Lyons Valley Preschool is a non-profit. community-based school located in the small town of Lyons, CO.
Born from the dedication of parents and community members in the wake of a 2013 flood that devastated the area, our nonprofit preschool began as a vision to nurture and empower children in Lyons with a supportive, Montessori-based education. Today, that vision has blossomed into a thriving community where children, teachers, parents, and grandparents come together with a shared passion for learning and connection.
We humbly ask for your support to allow us to continue to provide a safe and inspiring space for young learners. Donations of any amount—big or small—enable us to enrich our classroom materials, provide scholarships for families in need, support professional development for our teachers, and offer our students a foundation of creativity, curiosity, and compassion.

"Our son has spent two enriching and wonderful years at Lyons Valley Preschool. The staff provides a very welcoming, loving, encouraging and safe environment for the children to learn and grow. The learning environment is tailored to the specific growth and development of each child, and the teachers successfully tailor their curriculum to the needs of each individual student. A balanced curriculum is offered, including arts and sciences, music, body, math, reading, writing, exploring the community, creativity, and much more. A main focus in the classroom centers on providing an environment where children are independent and learn how to do things for themselves and take responsibility for their actions. A focus on "respect for oneself, respect for others, and respect for the environment" prevails and provides a structured set of boundaries within which the children are enabled to learn, explore, challenge themselves, make mistakes, and grow. Our Mission
Lyons Valley Preschool pledges to passionately provide children a safe learning environment that utilizes the Montessori philosophy nurturing the whole child through the senses and discovery while providing an environment that supports physical, emotional and intellectual growth.
Our goal, with a committed group of teachers, parents and community is to promote critical thinking, confident life-long learners with an emphasis on the joy of learning.
Lyons Valley Preschool (lyonsvalleypreschool.org) was born after the 2013 flood out of the desire to get Lyons preschoolers back in excellent care within our own community. Seeing this need, a group of parents banded together to start a new Montessori-based preschool. Heartened by our community's optimism and emboldened by the size of the task at hand, our founders got to work. Lyons Community Church quickly jumped on board, generously offering to rent their parsonage building as a space for our school. After lots of research, meetings, and a heavy dose of blood, sweat and tears, Lyons Valley Preschool was born.
Since then, the program has prospered and is now an important cornerstone for many families. The school has served hundreds of families and is poised to serve countless more. We are so proud of our talented staff and are thrilled that they continue to share their love and dedication with our students.
