Founded in 1978, the Rocky Mountain Multiple Sclerosis Center (RMMSC) is a family- and patient-centered nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the way we think about and treat MS. Our mission is to improve the lives of individuals and their families living with MS and related neurological diseases through care, support, education, and research. We are committed to providing innovative, specialized, comprehensive, and interdisciplinary care to treat, support, and rehabilitate people living with MS.
All services and programs offered by the Rocky Mountain MS Center are available for anyone impacted by MS or related neurological disorders regardless of where they receive their health care.
CARE: Through a partnership between the non-profit, Rocky Mountain MS Center, and University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, patients benefit from state-of-the-art care provided by MS-specialized practitioners and neurologists. The Clinic currently serves more than 4,500 adults and children with world-class clinical services. KADEP welcomes more than 60 clients every weekday and 150 individuals annually. KADEP is an innovative and award-winning adult day program designed to provide holistic support to individuals with a range of neurological disabilities, including traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, stroke, and rare neurological diseases.
SUPPORT: Promote quality of life for MS patients through comprehensive services to more than 470 people annually. Services include counseling hydrotherapy, adaptive online exercise classes, disability assessments, and our MS Young Professionals Network to meet the continuum of needs.
EDUCATION: Provide free educational publications, classes, and events to MS patients, their families, and health care professionals so they can make informed decisions about their care. Our educational publications reach 76,500 people around the world and we provide educational programming to more than 2,000 individuals through MS 101, Education Summits, our speaker series “Conversations on MS”, and webinars. These programs offer updates on MS and empower patients to make the most informed healthcare and lifestyle decisions tailored to their needs.
RESEARCH: The MS Center’s cutting-edge research program, one of the largest in the world, conducts basic science, clinical trials, and translational research to find biomarkers and effective MS treatments helping to improve the lives of people living with MS.
Entering our third year, the MS Rural Engagement Program aims to address the health disparities facing rural-based MS patients, including lack of access to specialized MS care, education, and support services. With our Rural Engagement Program, we have built many relationships and connections with rural-based MS patients and families through in-person outreach and by delivering a range of our education programs and support services. We have also forged trusting relationships and collaborations with rural health care providers and community-based organizations in our targeted rural Colorado communities.
