Museo de las Americas is truly a gem in the heart of the Art District on Santa Fe With over 30 years of dedication to showcasing the rich artistic and cultural heritage of Latin America, it offers a vibrant mix of exhibitions that span from ancient to contemporary art. Our commitment to educational programming and community engagement makes it a vital cultural hub in Denver. If you're interested in Latin American art, it's definitely worth a visit!
Our Impact
In 2024, we are proud to have reached thousands in the community through our exhibitions and programs. We welcomed over 55,000 visitors to our exhibitions and nearly 7,000 participants in our programs.
Exhibitions
- We enrich our community by collecting, preserving, and showcasing the diverse arts and cultures of the Americas. With 3 In-house Exhibitions, and over 5 Traveling Exhibitions.
Educational Programs

Children and Young Adults
- Our Summer Camp for kids ages 4 to 11 features dance, music, theater, and visual arts. With 65 spots available, it offers an exciting and educational experience that children will love!
- Annually, 45 students participate in the Lxs Jóvenes Leadership Lab at no cost, enhancing their knowledge, skills, and confidence in art, leadership, and mental health.

Adult
- Each month, our Spanish Conversation Club provides members with the opportunity to practice and improve their Spanish skills.
- Schools, libraries, and organizations love booking our Creative Art Museum Workshops in Denver! Our experienced maestros (teachers) provide excellent hands-on workshops in English or Spanish (or both)! These programs can be tailored for your age group and audience.
Special Events
- Museo's First Friday event attracts over 1,000 attendees each month, celebrating Latin American art and culture with a vibrant, immersive experience.
- We collaborate with the Santa Fe Art District to host the largest Día de Muertos procession in the state. Museo honors this ancestral tradition, bringing Latinx communities together to celebrate their departed loved ones with Ballet Folklórico, local vendors, and a Catrina Costume Contest that attracts over 2,000 attendees.
- Our annual fundraising gala Noche de Museo brings the community together to support our legacy and vision in a festive celebration.

Museo De Las Americas is dedicated to educating our community through collecting, preserving, interpreting, and exhibiting the diverse Latin American arts and cultures, from ancient to contemporary, through innovative exhibitions and programming. Our emphasis on Latin American culture allows us to present a rich tapestry of experience and creativity to all visitors.
The museum's mission is not only to preserve art and culture but also to serve as a bridge that connects generations and fosters a dialogue that inspires, educates, and celebrates the roots and traditions of Latin America.
Thanks to the commitment of our collaborators and donors, Museo de las Américas remains a leading institution in promoting Latin American cultural heritage.
Background Statement
Colorado has long been home to a thriving community of Latin American artists, yet mainstream arts organizations in the 70's and 80's did not hold space for Latin American artistry and culture. So in April 1991, a group of dedicated Latino and Hispanic artists and arts administrators got together to create Museo de las Americas, a museum where Latino Art, Culture and History would be put on a pedestal and celebrated for generations to come.
Museo de las Americas opened its doors to the public in April 1992, and has spent the last three decades shining a spotlight on our community’s creative achievements. Each Executive Director brought their own vision and growth goals for Museo, helping build us into who we are today.
