“If I could describe my summer in a few short words I would use: freeing, wild, tiring, and trusting. Before leaving for my park I was given a gift that reminded me of the confidence I get to place in the Lord. It was a small, wooden cross that had the words 'He is Risen' carved out. Throughout my summer, these three words continued to prompt boldness and courage to profess the truth about who my Savior is. Because of my role as a Room Inspector, doors were opened to form relationships with each of my co-workers."
"Each day, as I was assigned to my group of RA’s, the Holy Spirit kindly reminded me that He uses each interaction I had to shine the light of Christ and to be a vessel of God’s love. After each Sunday worship service we would invite attendees and co-workers to go hiking with us. Through these consistent hangouts, my team and I were able to form deep friendships with our co-workers. Our heart behind it was to be the light of Christ and be different from the world. We prayed that the Lord would use us to show them who Christ followers are, in a positive way that maybe they have never experienced. As the summer continued, we began to be known as “the people from the ministry” and I couldn’t have been prouder."

A Christian Ministry in the National Parks embodies and extends the ministry of Jesus Christ through worship, witness, and the development of Christian leaders.
A Christian Ministry in the National Parks (ACMNP) is a grassroots, student-led ministry that began in Yellowstone National Park in 1951 with the dream of providing Christian community for the people working in, living in, and visiting the first national park in the world.
Since then - for more than 70 years - ACMNP has given a Christian interpretation to the awe and grandeur of God's creation in the nation's national parks. ACMNP has always been a ministry in rather than to the national parks, serving employees, residents, and visitors through interdenominational worship services on Sundays.
Today, ACMNP lives its mission by sending roughly 200 ministry team members into many locations including 30+ national parks from Alaska to the Virgin Islands. Over 30,000 people worship together in ACMNP services every year, experiencing the glory of God by seeing it first-hand - nothing compares to the inspiration that comes from worshipping God the Creator in the beautiful outdoors!
