Background Statement
ACCCOUSA provides economic opportunity to minority-owned businesses with limited access to traditional business resources. Our focus is on Black / African immigrants & refugees, African-American and women owned businesses- typically mom and pop, micro and small businesses. Our reach extends throughout the state of Colorado.
By empowering African and other minority owned businesses, we strive to close the wealth gap and encourage economic growth and sustainability. For entrepreneurs looking to improve their skills, we provide business training, funding opportunities, guidance, and 21st century learning opportunities. Programs offered include technical assistance, youth entrepreneurship training, access to capital and resources, and a microlending program (up to $15,000 in loans).
ACCCOUSA is a trusted partner for Immigrant, African and black businesses and brings cultural competence and connection to a vast network of more than 400 member organizations who trust and value the information we provide to the community. As a resource, connector, navigator, trainer, and partner, the Chamber is of great importance to African businesses, their employees, and the immigrant community at large. The Chamber provides outreach, education and navigation to help business owners connect to resources including the SBA, local lenders and local loan programs. We strive to close the digital gap and combat cultural barriers that hinder access for many in our community.
The Chamber is led by immigrant business owners and community members who direct the work and programs. The African Chamber has a pulse on the community and engages frequently with members. We enjoy the support of the community and engage with our constituents at every opportunity. Community engagement activities include hosting open forums, conducting one-on-one and group interviews, providing surveys and outreach to hard to reach immigrant communities.
