Safe Haven rents a small home in North Longmont. This Safe Haven House has a few functions: year-round safe and sober shelter for six (6) homeless men, operations center for our street outreach, and as a Day Shelter twice a week for anyone experiencing homelessness.

As a member of the Longmont body of Christ, as an expression of our faith, Agape Longmont serves our neighbors with shelter, food, jobs, and encouragement in the name of Jesus.
In 2007 the Longmont faith community stepped up to begin providing weather-dependent emergency homeless sheltering. With the Boulder Shelter consistently full, the HOPE street outreach had no where to take the homeless. Agape used a rented house and church fellowship halls for overnight shelter sites. In 2016 HOPE stepped up to take over the "emergency warming center" shelter operations so Agape could start a "2nd tier" shelter service called Safe Haven. The Safe Haven program is a sober shelter for qualified applicants that are highly motivated or physically or emotionally vulnerable. What began as an emergency winter shelter then transitioned to a year-round shelter for our guests where we rotated between six(6) different church sites every evening. It is now a year-round program in our rented home that is open to 6 men that can show a willingness to work, desire to remain sober, and looking for an opportunity to give back to their community. Safe Haven is not a part of a single church, but as a faith-based organization is a service supported by many Christian churches in Longmont as well as other government agencies, businesses, and individuals. The Safe Haven sheltering model does not include religious practices; it simply serves our poorest neighbors with compassion as an expression of our Christian faith. In addition to guaranteed shelter Safe Haven also rents a small home in Longmont to operate as our Day Shelter. This allows any homeless individual the opportunity to shower, launder their clothing, eat a hot meal, use our computer for job searches, and fellowship with each other and our volunteers and staff.
