Our objective is not simply to shelter those experiencing homelessness, but more importantly, to help build a path to self-sufficiency for families experiencing homelessness and housing instability. In 1993, a group of like-minded and caring citizens started Almost Home in the basement of a local church to help those in the community experiencing homelessness. Over the past 31 years, Almost Home has grown from a small, citizen-run non-profit in a small one-bedroom home to one of the region’s most expansive organizations providing support to those experiencing homelessness and housing instability in Adams, Broomfield, and Weld Counties. With continued support from the communities we serve, we can help our community members in need and continue to expand our services, reaching more individuals and families than we ever have.
Almost Home, Inc. prides itself on developing, facilitating, and improving the following innovative programs:
~ Rapid Re-Housing Program- Provides Rapid Re-Housing (RRH) for unsheltered community members from local CoC Coordinated Entry systems
~ Housing Navigation Center: Provides resource assistance to walk-in participants
Almost Home strives to meet the specific needs of both individuals and families experiencing homelessness. To further extend help to families, Almost Home is partnering with several Adams County & Westminster public school districts to provide emergency shelter and housing navigators who work with families in the district. Our goal is to help house students and their families who meet the guidelines of the McKinney-Vento Act and provide students with educational stability ensuring they have as little disruption as possible to their lives during this difficult time.
