Who is your Arly? Who is it that helped YOU by providing individualized assistance at some point in your life? YOU can provide help for learners too! Your donation helps provide tutoring and one-on-one help for a student in the Boulder Valley School District (BVSD).
Now, more than ever, learners are in need of tutoring and assistance. The pace in schools is rapid, and the past few years have been inundated with challenges for families, including monetary assistance to provide tutoring. Whether it is learning to read, write or prepare for a college exam, the students in our community benefit from a dedicated individual meeting with them one on one.
Teachers value the partnership of AKEF and the support beyond the classroom. Families appreciate the tutoring beyond the school day. With your help, learners can boost their literacy skills, improve their mathematical acumen and enhance their interest in STEM, including exploring innovation.
The Arly Kruse Educational Foundation (AKEF) is a proven conduit to positive change. Thousands of learners have been assisted since AKEF started working with the local school district and through a wonderful nonprofit partner like Impact on Education who review the data and supply the grants. From literacy tutoring support in elementary schools like Alicia Sanchez Elementary to the high school programs, Adelante! at Fairview High School and Boulder High.
Because of the one-on-one help, the youngest learners are reading with confidence and the oldest high school graduates are better prepared with life skills and they are being accepted into universities.
With your funding, gaps for learners are filled right now--while students are in school. Teachers gain community partners and role models which gives time back to them in the classroom for all students. We know with Arly's kind of committed one-on-one interaction and attention, students gain confidence and trust, develop more positive role models, and they are better equipped to move forward, achieve success, and they often reach out to help someone else too!

With the belief that all children are gifted and can succeed, given help and individual attention, the Arly Kruse Educational Foundation aims to enhance the education of children from diverse backgrounds through academic support and tutoring free of cost to Boulder Valley School District families.
Arly Kruse was a Colorado educator for nearly 40 years of her 75-year life. She believed that education is the gateway to a brighter future. Arly began teaching full time in Boulder Valley School District schools and she substitute taught for years as a young mother. Arly provided one-on-one tutoring until her retirement.
Arly wholeheartedly believed she could make an impact on the world by teaching children.
In honoring Arly's passion for education, a 501(c)(3) in the name of Arly Kruse Educational Foundation has been established with the help of professionals within the Boulder Valley School District (BVSD). Governed by a board of retired and current educators, the foundation will provide needed funding based on data for families in BVSD who would otherwise be unable to provide their children with one-on-one and small group tutoring. Learners from PK through HS Grade 12 are provided services.
With your help, we will carry on Arly's legacy and belief that all children are gifted and can succeed if given a little help and individual attention along the way.
