Beatitude Care Foundation

A nonprofit organization

Beatitude Care Foundation was formed in 2017 to support the Beatitude Care Clinic in the Nguru Umuaro LGA in Imo State, Nigeria. The Clinic, while predominately a maternity and child care facility, also does primary care for 5 villages in the area. Stewart, a retired OB/GYN doc, and Terrie, a retired OB/GYN sonographer met John Nkwocha in Lamar, Colorado in 2016. Having learned from him about the struggles of health care in Nigerian villages and specifically about the challenges of obstetric and pediatric care, the Abbots visited the area and felt called to do something. John had purchased a plot of land in his home village of Egbelu, and together funds were raised and the clinic has come into being. Presently, we employ 2 midwives, a part time physician, nursing, lab and security staff. Babies are being born and villagers are given medications for chronic illnesses such as diabetes and high blood pressure when they come for monitoring. Malaria is endemic in the area and villagers are treated for this also without charge.

Funds raised by Beatitude Care Foundation go to support the staff at the Clinic and the medications that are given out. From our IRS 990 EZ form you will see that our administrative and fund raising costs are a small fraction of what we raise. We thank you in advance for your considering to support us in this humanitarian endeavor.
