Testimonials

As a leader in Boulder's Jewish community, I am so excited by the unfolding reality of the new JCC, where the mission to bring together Jews of all denominations and none, of all ages and with so many different entry points, can really be lived to its fullest potential. The rabbis and leaders of our rich and diverse community are thrilled to be part of what is being built in Boulder, physically and figuratively, and the future is dynamic and bright!
Rabbi Marc Soloway of Congregation Bonai Shalom

Our kiddo graduated from preschool today at our beloved Boulder JCC. She started there at 11 weeks old, and without the support of all the teachers, staff, and other parents, I would not have survived as a parent, and would not have finished my PhD dissertation, which I wrote completely in the JCC library between breastfeeding breaks. This special place is foundational to who we are as a family and I don’t have words for how grateful I am.
Lauren, Preschool Parent

Canasta lessons at the J have been so much more than just learning to play a card game.  I have been very fortunate to meet a group of wonderful women, including our talented instructor, Joyce Laiserin, and we formed an almost instant bond and deep friendship.  We meet on Thursday mornings for two hours of card play and almost non-stop laughter.  Sometimes we continue our fun over an impromptu lunch. We support each other through life’s ups and downs.  Good/great friends are hard to find.  This group of women means the world to me.  The best part though is that we love adding new folks to the mix so please join us

When I was a young child, my parents sent me to Jewish sleep-away camps.   That experience helped cement my identity and culture. Now, as a relatively new resident of Boulder, I was looking for the same sense of community and belonging. The MOTJ has answered my needs. I found like-minded men who enjoy hiking, meeting up at local breweries, and getting together to chat. The Boulder JCC is my new Jewish “camp” and the men I’ve befriended are my new “bunk-mates”. Thank you Boulder JCC and the Men of The J for welcoming me.
Roy, Men Of The J Program Attendee

Today, fourteen years later with five kids who all went to the JCC preschool, we feel that we made the right choice. Each and every one of the staff members is loving, talented, educated and has a pure interaction with our family.

The Boulder JCC is not just a preschool; it is a community and a family. Thank you Boulder JCC, we love you all!

We continue to be impressed and excited with the cultural Jewish programming offered at the Boulder JCC. The width and breadth of the programming developed in the past 10 years have surpassed anything that we were exposed to in larger cities. We have learned so much about Jewish heritage through the wonderful lectures and movies.

Background Statement

Rooted in Jewish culture, we envision a community where everyone feels valued, connected, and celebrated. We are a home for community that builds relationships, embraces differences, and embodies what Jewish life can be.

About This Cause

The Boulder Jewish Community Center (JCC) believes that relationships provide meaning and add value to our lives. We help people find connections in Boulder County and beyond in a way that resonates with them. At its core, the Boulder JCC is a place to build relationships and learn—a community hub for togetherness and vibrant Jewish life. We provide space and opportunities for anyone looking to grow and connect with their neighbors. Our programs and services span early childhood through adult education, arts and culture, farm, sustainability, and more to offer essential care for the community and its ever-changing needs.

Our program areas include:

• The Jay and Rose Phillips Early Childhood Center is one of the best Boulder Preschools, providing a quality early childhood education program where learning is facilitated through play, discovery, and inquiry. Children explore their environment using dramatic play, music, art, sensory experience, movement, and language. For the '24-'25 school year, we have over 170 children enrolled, ranging from infants (8 weeks) to pre-K. While the number and amount of scholarships vary annually, in ‘23-’24, 61% of our families received scholarships and/or some form of tuition assistance through the Boulder JCC. Supporting families in our community is critical to our mission, and we continue to work towards increasing the resources available to make our early childhood education programs accessible to all.

• The Library houses a teacher resource center and is Boulder County residents' primary Jewish educational and informational resource.

• Day Camps, After-School Programs, School-Day off programs, and Teen Programs offer a variety of specialty camps and programs rooted in Jewish values and welcoming youth of all ages, backgrounds, races, and religions.

• Arts, Culture, and Education (ACE) offers enlightening and entertaining arts, cultural, and educational programs, including the Boulder Jewish Film Festival, the annual Boulder Jewish Festival, art gallery, lectures, musical performances, lunch and learns, travel, and other arts-related programming.

• Farm and Sustainability ignite wonder and discovery about the natural world through a two-acre educational and sustainable farm that brings the greater community together through experiential programs and activities.

• Community and Family Engagement provides avenues to connect individuals and families through various programs and networking opportunities designed to welcome newcomers while continuing to build connections among long-time Boulder County residents.

• Women of the J provides a forum for Jewish women of all ages to build community by participating in social and educational opportunities while incorporating the importance of tzedakah (charitable giving) and tikkun olam (repairing the world).

• Men of the J is a new initiative that provides a forum for Jewish men of all ages to build community. The program currently consists of monthly hikes, discussion groups, and one-time programs such as speakers and classes.

• Nosh and Network promotes networking and connections in the business community.

• New(ish) to Boulder welcomes and connects new community members to each other and the Boulder Jewish community.

• EXCHANGE: A Hub for Learning provides educational opportunities for adults (55+) to learn for the sake of learning.

• J Parent provides parents with the time and space to connect. From learning how to celebrate Jewish holidays at home to parenting hacks to make family time more fulfilling, this group offers the opportunity to create connections and find community
