Background Statement
Capitol Hill Community Services (CHCS) has been feeding the homeless and poor in Central Denver since 1984. Starting with a once a week meal in a Capitol Hill church, we now have 4 sites that serve over 40,000 hot meals every year. We were incorporated in 1986. We are governed by a 16 member Board of Directors who donate their time.
CHCS always serves hearty, nutritious meals at lunch time. We have never served soup, but offer a protein /carbohydrate entree, a vegetable, salad, bread and sometimes desert. We rely on donated food and volunteers to serve the meals.
