Who We Are

Cherry Hills Land Preserve (CHLP) is a local nonprofit organization founded in 2005 to inspire nature conservation and open space stewardship in Cherry Hills Village. Since late 2021, in a partnership with the City of Cherry Hills Village, CHLP has focused on revitalizing Quincy Farm to transform this long-dormant property into a vibrant community asset that connects people to nature and history. Quincy Farm represents 24% of our public open space and parks and is strategically located along the High Line Canal.

What We Do

It’s all about open space, nature, history, and COMMUNITY at Quincy Farm!  CHLP's activities are to:

- Provide educational programs and events like the Barn Party that bring us together as a community;

- Engage and inform residents on the value of preserving this historic Farm and local conservation;

- Collaborate with the City of Cherry Hills Village to provide strategic planning and resource development for property uses and improvements so future generations can enjoy this unique community asset;

- Promote public access to the property while protecting its natural space and conservation values.

Our Vision

Our vision is that Quincy Farm will be an integral part of the educational and recreational infrastructure of the City of Cherry Hills Village, benefitting both people and wildlife.  It will be a place that reminds our community of its agricultural heritage, natural beauty, and scenic vistas, and of the wildlife and habitats that enrich the Cherry Hills Village Community. We also hope to inspire a sense of stewardship and connection to nature and spark life-long curiosity for the natural wonders in our own backyard and beyond.  See www.quincyfarm.org to learn more about our activities and programs!

How You Can Help

CHLP relies upon charitable contributions to support its mission, as well as the talents of its committed and passionate board members, community volunteers, and exceptional staff dedicated to the legacy and future of Quincy Farm. We are honored to partner with the City of Cherry Hills Village to ensure that this incredibly special place can be preserved, cherished, and enjoyed for many years to come.

Mission

Cherry Hills Land Preserve's mission is to inspire nature conservation and open space stewardship. Our mission at Quincy Farm is to provide educational and recreational experiences that inspire curiosity and learning about nature, land conservation, and local history & rural heritage. Visit us at www.QuincyFarm.org to learn about our programs for youth and adults!

Our impact goals are to inspire curiosity and life-long learning about nature, ecosystems, and local conservation efforts, and to build community support for local open space. In 2024, CHLP held 23 education programs and open houses, and welcomed 1,343 visitors to the Farm, up from 800 in 2023.

Background Statement

CHLP was founded in 2005 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit by a group of Village locals who recognized the extraordinary gifts of our community's natural open lands and who shared a desire to protect and preserve them for current and future generations.

These founders recognized the importance of preserving the scenic vistas and wildlife habitat that enrich our daily lives, as well as our part in the larger network of connected open space providing critical wildlife habitat and access to natural green spaces in Metro Denver.
