At Children's Garden of Learning, we believe children are strong, capable individuals full of potential and curiosity. We want to create a place that encourages discovery, problem-solving, social interaction, and collaboration between children, parents, and teachers.

Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, Children's Garden of Learning partners with children, families, and the Vail Valley community to provide an inquiry-based education for young learners. Teachers and children co-construct their learning experience through observation, intentional planning, creative environments, and active exploration of materials. Our goal is for each student to emerge as socially capable, creative citizens who love learning.
In 1986 in partnership with parents and the Vail community two preschools were established, the Learning Tree and the ABC School. With a long history of providing excellent early education for Vail's children, these two schools later merged and became the Children's Garden of Learning in 2002. In 2021 again in partnership with the community and with generous support from the town of Vail, CGL moved into our current location, 330 S. Frontage Road.
With nearly 40 years of experience and knowledge CGL has educated over 3000 children in Eagle County and passed down our rich history of the Vail Valley. As the only Reggio-inspired school in Eagle County, we remain thankful to our supporters who allow us to deliver a unique approach to education for our youngest citizens.
