Cobalt believes nothing should stand between you and your health decisions. But the reality is, assaults on reproductive healthcare and autonomy are intensifying across the nation. And that is on top of the barriers to reproductive healthcare that so many already face on a daily basis.

Your reproductive autonomy should not be dependent on your job, where you live, your financial situation, or, frankly, someone else's political agenda. That's why we are committed to securing policies, structures, and attitudes that support fundamental reproductive healthcare and abortion access.

It's time that every Coloradan is able to make the health decisions that are right for them, free from stigma, systemic barriers, and politics.

Not only do we push for policies that expand and protect abortion access in Colorado, we also have an Abortion Fund and Practical Support Fund that help individuals who need financial assistance obtaining an abortion and/or the additional costs it takes to travel to receive the care they need. Our Abortion Fund assisted 2,395+ clients with abortion costs in 2023 alone, and our Practical Support Fund assisted 1,546+ clients in 2023 with travel support and other practical support costs. The need remains high after the Dobbs decision, and continues to increase as more states restrict abortion access. 100% of the money raised for the Abortion Fund and Practical Support Fund goes directly to clients requesting assistance. We couldn't do this important work without donors like you!

*Early giving giveaway: if you make an early giving donation (between now and December 9) you'll be entered to win a free Cobalt t-shirt of your choice!*

Testimonials from those assisted by Cobalt:

"Without Cobalt, we would not have been able to afford the healthcare I needed. We said goodbye to our daughter with love and care and dignity due to the help from Cobalt."

"They handled everything for me and kept in contact with me throughout the 2 weeks until my appointment date...I can’t thank them enough for everything they’ve done for me."

"I honestly don’t know what I would have done without the assistance. Being that I had to travel from another state, affording the cost of airfare, hotel and the procedure was impossible for me. I was in no position to be a single mom. I felt supported from day one of contacting Cobalt and they made the process seamless from beginning to end."

There are a few options for donating:

Mission

Our purpose: Cobalt envisions a world where your health decisions are free from stigma, politics and systemic barriers. Our mission: We actualize policies, structures and attitudes that secure unassailable reproductive autonomy and abortion access.

Background Statement

In order to remove all barriers to reproductive healthcare, we have to know what those barriers are. We believe that our stakeholders and communities at the grassroots level know what they need best, so it's important for us to be deeply rooted in our community.

Colorado was the first state to legalize abortion in 1967, and since then, our state has served as a model for reproductive healthcare policies and programs. This new direction will enable us to continue creating the local impact we really want.

The Cobalt Foundation makes our civic engagement efforts possible, grows our community organizing programs, and increases our statewide impact.

A critical component of our Foundation is the Cobalt Abortion Fund, which provides financial support for abortion procedures and Practical Support Fund which provides financial support for any necessary travel expenses to obtain an abortion. We do not discriminate funding based on anyone’s age, religion, marital status, physical ability, gender expression or identity, sexual orientation, race, or ethnicity.
