Colorado Music Bridge (CMB) advances equitable access to music education through multi-generational mentorship, innovative workforce development and professional training opportunities, creative content, and trauma-informed pedagogy. We harness the power of music education to transform lives and build stronger, more resilient communities with inclusive, culturally relevant programs for learners with diverse learning styles and abilities.
By partnering directly with schools and service organizations who serve primarily BIPOC and economically under-resourced communities, CMB bridges barriers to access for diverse learners and underserved communities. Not only do we meet students where they are at with modern music education programming that meets the expressed needs of schools and students—we train, mentor and hire paid interns and teaching artists who have similar demographics and backgrounds as those served. Outstanding students can become interns, interns become teaching artists, and teaching artists become music industry professionals, who in turn mentor the next generation.
Since our inception in 2019, Colorado Music Bridge has increased equitable access to music education for over 3,200 Colorado youth.
To support integration of the arts, the structural capacity of education systems, and youth resiliency through increased access to inclusive modern music education, mentorship, professional development, and creative content in diverse communities with underserved and predominantly BIOPIC populations.
The impact of systemic social, economic, and mental health crises in our local Colorado communities have consistently challenged the structural capacity of education systems and youth resilience. At Music Bridge, our vision is to bolster systemic capacity and support community resilience by addressing barriers and building bridges across a multi-level education system--providing meaningful economic opportunity and mentorship for diverse local teaching artists; accessible modern music curricula and trauma-informed pedagogy for youth; and inspired programming for the public through our artist development and content creation arm.
