THE COLORADO POETS CENTER
Colorado poets are the heart and soul of our communities. They inspire us with their poetry. Their diverse and complex poetic voices help us understand, value and change the worlds in which we live. All of the Colorado Poets Center activities are free to the public.
The Colorado Poets Center is now a directory of over 300 Colorado poets. We added 29 new poets in 2025, many of whom are young, diverse and representing new poetry communities in Colorado. Your donation of $30 helps us add one new poet to the site. There is no charge to the poets to be on our website.
The Colorado Poets Center sponsors free monthly poetry readings in Boulder, Denver and other parts of Colorado. In 2025, 26 poets read their work. Your donation of $50 pays a featured poet to read.
The Colorado Poets Center publishes a free quarterly electronic newsletter, the Colorado Poet. Your donation of $50 helps us publish one electronic issue of the Colorado Poet newsletter.
Each issue of the Colorado Poet features two in-depth interviews with Colorado poets. . Your donation of $50 funds one poet interview.
Your donation of $300 funds a mini-conference or workshop. On October 16 and 23, 2025, Nancy Viera led an Ofrendas Workshop in collaboration with the Boulder Art Association, celebrating Day of the Dead. Participants wrote Calaverita poems and created altars to honor loved ones.
Your donation of $75 funds a first-place poetry award for a high school student at Northridge High School in Greeley. $50 funds a second-place award. In April 2025, seven high school students won Robert W. King Poetry Awards.
Your donation of $75 funds our poets so they can collaborate with other community, school, poetry and art associations, and bookstores. In 2025, we funded poets in collaboration with Greeley's LINC Library, Fruita's Lithic Bookstore, Denver's Shop at Matter Bookstore, Englewood Block Party, Columbine Poets, the Boulder Art Association, and elementary schools in Denver and Greeley. A new website feature, Poetry News, describes these collaborations.
Poetry makes a difference in the lives of so many people. Please donate.
