The Butterfly Foundation

A nonprofit organization

The Butterfly Foundation was founded in 2009 to support Colorado families who have experienced an event leading to absolute loss, severe illness or hardship and empower them as they transform out of tragedy. By offering assistance in areas such as housing and food security, mental health, financial assistance and spiritual support, The Butterfly Foundation has helped over 30 Colorado families get back on their feet with confidence. We work in partnership with nonprofits such as Hands of the Carpenter, CASA Children's Advocates, PC's for People, and Building Warriors to ensure our grant recipients know that they have a community of support to pull from at their time of need - and in the future!

In addition, The Butterfly Foundation has expanded our grant program to include a The Monarch Educational Grant for emergency response professionals and the "Empower a Teacher Contest" for educators serving in the Denver-metro area. The Monarch Educational Grant awards one fire or first responders who are working to build on their education in areas focusing on mental health, emergency response and trauma management with a $3000 grant. This program stemmed from a partnership with the South Metro Fire Department to create a Peer Support Team to help manage the stress and PTSD that comes from this type of work. This program has seen great success and has begun to expand to other Departments in the Denver-metro area.

In the fall, we host the "Empower a Teacher Contest" for educators who are the energy of their school. Teachers play an important role with families dealing with tragedy and this contest recognizes those exceptional individuals who have made a big difference in their community.

The Butterfly Foundation is proud to be an organization that empowers Colorado families to take on the journey to move forward after tragedy strikes.
