Colorado FriendShip

A nonprofit organization

Colorado FriendShip needs your help to support people in dire need. We provide weekend food for food-insecure children at local elementary schools, hot meals and clothing for the un-housed, and aid for disaster victims.

Mission

To reduce suffering and improve lives throughout our community by providing food and clothing to those in need.

Background Statement

Colorado FriendShip formed in 1998 with the initial goal of providing disaster relief using our mobile trailers to supply clothing to those affected. We quickly realized that local disasters happen only occasionally and decided that in between disasters, we could use our resources to help the homeless in Boulder through our Meals on the Street Program. Since 1998, we have brought our trailer to Boulder every Sunday where we provide a hot meal and distribute clothing and supplies to the homeless that gather there.

In 2013, we added our IncrEdibles Program which provides bags of food every weekend during the school year to food-insecure children at local elementary schools. These children receive school meals during the week but might have little or nothing to eat over the weekends while at home. We provide non-perishable, easy to prepare foods with a focus on high nutritional value to support them over the weekend so they can return to school on Monday morning ready to learn.

We continue to look for ways to serve those in need in our community in partnership with local businesses, other non-profits and the community.
