Our unique approach begins with building strong relationships with students and families so we can understand how to support their growth and success.
With a team that includes mental health professionals and educators equipped to handle diverse classroom dynamics daily, we create a safe space for students to grow academically and emotionally.
Background
Thirty years ago, the two founders of our school set out to create a space for young people who hadn’t found success in traditional educational settings. Their vision became a reality in 2004, when Colorado High School Charter was established as one of Denver’s first charter schools. Today, CHSC holds the distinction of being both the city’s oldest charter high school and its longest-standing alternative charter school. Providing a tailored curricula to guarantee that our students can succeed.
Over the years, CHSC has positively impacted thousands of students, celebrated the graduation of hundreds, and continues to transform lives every single day. As a Denver Public Schools certified "green" school, CHSC remains a trailblazer in providing inclusive, innovative, and sustainable education. The term "Green School" refers to a school that has achieved a "Performance" rating on the Colorado School Performance Framework (SPF).This means it is meeting and exceeding key areas such as academic achievement, academic growth, and postsecondary readiness.
