Testimonials

Audience survey response for "Requiem of the Living" March 2018 collaboration with Rock Canyon HS and Regis University choirs:

o The entire concert was beautiful! It's heartwarming to see and hear the fruits of your labor. This is much needed in today's world and inspires a spirit of hopefulness. Thank you for your wonderful contribution to our community.

o We think the opportunity for young people to sing with the CRS and experience the direction of Dr. Kyle Fleming is priceless. Hopefully his passion for singing and dedication to music education encourages everyone involved to keep music as a part of their avocation, if not profession.

Student survey response for "Requiem of the Living" March 2018 collaboration with Rock Canyon HS and Regis University choirs:

o I thought that it'd would be a once in a lifetime type of experience for myself and for Rock Canyon Select choirs. I was very much looking forward to the opportunity.

o I immensely enjoyed singing with all the talented and hardworking people CRS proved themselves to be. They were always organized and everyone I meet there was very hardworking and talented. My favorite part was getting to meet each person and connect through music! Dr. Fleming encouraged us to reach out to one another and CRS made me feel welcomed and excited to sing! Standing next to some of those wonderfully talented ladies in the alto section reminded me of the impact we truly have. Thank you all for that!

o I felt that they were wonderful examples of musicianship and were incredibly friendly to us, despite the age difference

Mission

Colorado Repertory Singers (CRS) provides for the education, cultural enlightenment, and entertainment of the public through the presentation of a variety of choral music. CRS provides singers of all ages an environment that encourages musical growth, provides access to a full range of vocal works, and fosters a sense of community.

Background Statement

CRS was formed in January 2002 by Director Emeritus, Ronald J. Williams, to create an accessible community choir bringing diverse music to the community. The choir, currently under the artistic direction of Dr. Kyle Fleming, consists of approximately 60 singers who come together to inspire and engage our audiences. Singers come from various backgrounds but each shares a passion for making music.

Since then, CRS has staged a minimum of three concerts per season, generally with two to three performances per concert. CRS generally performs in our home county of Broomfield, as well as Denver metro area venues, but has also performed at Carnegie Hall twice and at the Mozart Festival in Vienna.

Under Dr. Fleming's leadership, CRS has added masterwork collaborations to the annual concert season. Choirs from Denver metro area high schools and colleges are engaged to work with CRS in performing the year's selected masterwork. CRS provides the high school with musical scores and Dr. Fleming invests time at each school to work with the schools' artistic directors and choir members. CRS and the collaborating schools rehearse and spend time building community together. All production expenses are borne by CRS. The success of masterwork collaborations with area high school and college choirs has united the membership in the effort to offer young choral singers mentorship and the ability to perform at acoustically excellent venues with professional soloists and a full orchestra.

CRS participates in free community outreach programs to include holiday caroling at the Denver Botanic Gardens and performances at area retirement centers.
