Join us in making a real impact! Help us support the Colorado Safe Haven for Newborns nonprofit, dedicated to safeguarding vulnerable newborns, mothers in crisis, and our community from the heartbreaking reality of infant abandonment. Colorado's Safe Haven Law provides a crucial option, allowing parents to leave an infant up to 72 hours old at a designated safe location without fear of prosecution.
The good news is that TOGETHER, we can make a difference. Since the law's inception, Colorado has witnessed the safe surrender of 87 babies. The funds we raise throughout the year play a vital role in spreading awareness about the Safe Haven law. This year alone, we’ve worked with local and state agencies – from social workers to firefighters and law enforcement, to health care workers. Our role was to offer clear guidance and education when dealing with a surrendered newborn.
We’ve significantly invested in our website with updates, redesign, and better resources for parents. Our goal was to ensure parents have the support they need.
Our statewide billboard campaign continues. This year we’ve had billboards up from February through today that have reached approximately 1.6 million people.
Your contribution can help us continue these impactful initiatives and reach even more individuals in need. Together, let's make a lasting difference and protect the most vulnerable among us.
We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing infant abandonment by teaching about the Safe Haven Law. Unfortunately this law in unfunded in our state so we rely on contributions from our supporters to make sure we can get the word out to those who need to hear about it.
During the summer of 2003, the Denver area witnessed the tragic discovery of three infants who had lost their lives. The lives of these babies could have been spared if their mothers were aware of the Safe Haven law. Motivated by this heartbreaking incident, a group of compassionate individuals united to establish an organization dedicated to raising awareness about the Safe Haven law. The vision is to prevent infant deaths resulting from abandonment by ensuring that more people are informed about this vital option.
