CORE addresses the primary sources of greenhouse gas emissions in Pitkin, Eagle, and Garfield Counties, preserving the remarkable places we call home. Since 1994, CORE has used innovation, connectivity and community to tackle climate change.
The built environment produces 56% of our region’s greenhouse gas emissions. Central to solving the problem of climate change is to offer cost-effective and efficient alternatives for homeowners and businesses to convert to clean energy.
We’ve heard firsthand from people and families who want to take big and bold steps to reduce energy consumption in their homes and businesses, yet they struggle to find the time, money, and support to make it happen. CORE bridges the gap to ensure that community members can make building improvements that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and improve resiliency, health, and comfort.
Across more than 6,000 energy efficiency and fuel switching projects, emissions have been reduced by 34,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide, and community members and businesses have received $10 million in grants and rebates. Our work is made possible with the support of our members, sponsors, and donors.
