Community Radio Project is a nonprofit media organization that operates KSJD community radio and the Sunflower Theatre in the historic Montezuma Valley Bank building in the heart of Cortez, Colorado. 

KSJD provides local news, information, and music programming to the Four Corners area. Over 30 volunteer DJs bring an eclectic mix of music to KSJD's airwaves.

The Sunflower Theatre provides community-based arts and culture events such as theater productions, live music, storytelling, and film. It is an important gathering place for local residents to share in creativity and joy.


Mission

Community Radio Project's mission is to inform, entertain, and empower the people of the Four Corners region through news, arts, culture, and public media service.

Background Statement

Community Radio Project, an IRS-designated 501(c)(3), was created in 2004 with the intent to provide the Four Corners region with high-quality, locally-focused media and performing arts. Community Radio Project is the licensee for KZET, KSJD and KICO radio, serving seven counties in Four Corners area of Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico and Utah, including the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe and portions of the Navajo Nation. The organization also operates the Sunflower Theatre, a 100-seat performing arts venue in downtown Cortez, Colorado.

Community Radio Project is branded as KSJD and the Sunflower Theatre.
