Hunger in Mesa County
Hunger in Mesa County is a real problem, especially with the rising cost of living that comes along with increased economic growth and development. Nearly 20,000 of our neighbors are experiencing food insecurity and are unsure of where their next meal may come from. We believe that no one should have to go hungry in our community.
It doesn't always look like what you think. Hunger in our community looks like seniors living on a fixed income that doesn't keep up with inflation, a single mother making $15/hr, school teachers with full-time jobs, disabled veterans who can't make ends meet. It looks like stretching food budgets and scraping by on cheap processed food. It looks like having to choose between paying your bills and providing good food for you and your family.
Community Food Bank Vision
CFB's vision is that every person in need has access to the nutritious foods and resources they need for their families to thrive, while preventing any unnecessary food waste in the Grand Valley.
