Background Statement
Community Link was founded in 1958 by a group of parents in Boulder with the mission of promoting the inclusion of their children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in the local community. Over the decades, our services have expanded, but our core mission of supporting individuals and families with IDD and fostering inclusion has remained unchanged. Every member of our current Board of Directors has a family member with an intellectual or developmental disability, ensuring a personal connection to the community we serve.
Staying true to the vision of our founders, Community Link continues to prioritize creating meaningful community connections. The individuals we support not only benefit from being integrated into their local community, but we also believe that the community as a whole is enriched by their participation.
At Community Link, we recognize that every person is unique. We don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach to care. Instead, we take the time to get to know you and your family, working together to design personalized support through our Residential, Day, and Employment Programs. By aligning services with individual interests and needs, we empower people to live the life they choose.
Ultimately, our goal is for each individual to live their fullest, most fulfilling life. Seeing that happen is the most rewarding part of the work we do.
