Founded in 1997 as Cottonwood Artists’ School, Cottonwood Center for the Arts was initially started as a space for artists to explore and develop their work. In 2009, Cottonwood moved to its current location at 427 E. Colorado Ave. and expanded its offerings to include artist studios, classes, performances, events, and more.
Today, Cottonwood is a thriving arts hub in the center of downtown Colorado Springs, committed to welcoming all members of the community to explore their creative life. Cottonwood offers studio space to over 130 artists, provides art classes to youth and adults, and hosts a variety of events such as plays, film festivals, and gallery exhibits. Recently, Cottonwood has launched a successful literary arts program and expanded its curation program, which brings art to local businesses and homes across the Front Range.
