Since 2017, Covered Colorado has helped 136 survivors to get them on their feet. Additionally, we have helped hundreds of survivors through our crisis coordination. We know there is much more to be done.

In January of 2023 we opened our first residential home for trafficking survivors, Covered House. Covered House is a six-to-eight-month residential program established to help survivors achieve stabilization. Covered House utilizes a thoughtful and comprehensive approach to mental health care in a group home setting. Residents participate in crisis counseling, individual and group therapy, life skills classes, and substance use rehabilitation and support. Services are provided by staff with expertise in trauma-informed and survivor-informed evidence-based practices.

Our residential home allows us to further the work we are doing and make a bigger impact in the community and the amazing women in our program. We will continue to collaborate with vetted partner organizations, the court system, law enforcement, and select healthcare agencies on crisis cases. We recognize that every woman seeking our services is a unique individual. Therefore, our approach is designed to meet each woman’s specific needs. Our program is offered to clients at no cost to them.

The challenges we face in our mission have grown significantly over the past year. In 2024, we have already exceeded our usual crisis calls for the entire year, with a growth rate of 253% compared to the prior year.  The rising costs of food and everyday living expenses have put an additional strain on the survivors we serve. Many of them are struggling to make ends meet, facing the harsh reality of increased prices without a corresponding increase in their income.

Your continued support is crucial in helping us bridge this gap and provide the necessary resources for these survivors to rebuild their lives. Your donation will directly contribute to our Survivor Program.  From counseling and healthcare to housing and legal assistance, we provide a holistic range of support services tailored to the unique needs of trafficking survivors. Your donation will allow us to continue offering these vital services, ensuring survivors have the necessary tools to heal and thrive.

By making a tax-deductible donation today, you can help us make an impact on the lives of trafficking survivors in Colorado. Together, we can provide them with the resources and opportunities they need to build a future filled with hope, dignity, and self-sufficiency.

Mission

Mission Statement: Our goal at Covered is to empower each sex trafficking survivor toward healing and self-sufficiency.

Vision Statement: Covered’s vision is to see survivors of sex trafficking and exploitation recover from the abuse and trauma of trafficking. Our goal is also to bring awareness of trafficking in the Denver Metro Area and work with local law enforcement, the court system, and task forces to eradicate sex trafficking in Colorado.

Background Statement

Covered started in 2017 after our founder discovered that there are very few resources in Colorado for sex trafficking victims over the age of eighteen. A group of people wanting to make a difference got together and formed Covered. After receiving our 501c3 status as a nonprofit, we began to build our program and help survivors find hope and healing. Covered continues to grow and improve on the resources and care that we are providing for these brave women seeking a new life.
