Mission

To enrich the cultural fabric of our community by presenting dynamic musical experiences, by supporting and educating Colorado youth and music lovers of all ages, and by providing opportunities for adult musicians to continue their avocation.

Background Statement

The Denver Concert Band (DCB) has been called one of the most outstanding adult community bands in the United States.

The 90-member band regularly performs formal concerts at the Lone Tree Arts Center and holds summer concerts in the Denver metro area, throughout the state of Colorado and has toured internationally to Switzerland, the British Isles, France and Germany. The DCB has also performed at the Association of Concert Band Convention in Mesa, AZ (1996), Fairfax, VA (2002), Houston, TX (2009) and Santa Fe, NM (2022).

The DCB is dedicated to music education. Our annual Young Artist competition selects a high school senior to perform with the band each spring. The winner receives a $5000 scholarship towards their college education. The DCB's Show & Tell Band performs at elementary schools to teach and promote interest in instrumental music.
