Give the Gift of Community. Give the Gift of the Y!

For every stage in life, for all people, at all times, the YMCA is here.  But that is only possible because of our community’s generosity. We need your support.

The challenges our community faces are significant: health inequity, nutrition access, social isolation, mental health issues, racial disparities, unemployment, unhoused families and individuals and disproportionately high costs of living. During the pandemic, the Y stepped up because it was the right thing to do. We are still paying for some of those investments, and without the federal funding that was once available to us. There is an epidemic of loneliness in our country. Isolation and lack of connection is damaging to both our mental and physical health.

Your Gift’s Impact:

  • Community generosity supports access to YMCA programs for many so that they can be healthy in spirit, mind and body.
  • The YMCA keeps older adults active and social, so they stay engaged and involved in their friendships, families and communities.
  • At the Y, children build meaningful relationships, gain confidence and achieve their personal best. We are fostering mentorships with teens to encourage leadership development, academic achievement and self-care.
  • The Y is all about bringing people together, strengthening connections and celebrating our diverse community.
  • The Y provides scholarships and financial aid to ensure that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, has the opportunity to be part of the Y and benefit from its programs.

Did you know? Charitable gifts to the YMCA could be eligible for a 50% credit through the Colorado Child Care Contribution tax credit program.

    • $27 gives one kid a week of fun and physical activity in "Sports of All Sorts."
    • $150 empowers a young adult to build leadership skills and get real-life legislative experience at the annual Youth in Government Conference.
    • $236 provides a scholarship for four months of a YMCA membership with access to fitness classes like indoor cycling to be active and connect with others.
    • $400 provides one child high-quality summertime care and academic support through YMCA Power Scholars.
    • $980 gives an adult access to the year-long Diabetes Prevention Program and the four-month Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring program.
    • $2,000 supports a family with one month of high-quality early childhood education in the warm, welcoming environment of Y Academy.

Mission

The mission of the YMCA of Metropolitan Denver is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.

Background Statement

Since before Colorado was named a state, the YMCA of Metro Denver has been building strong, thriving and equitable communities. The challenges our community faces are significant: health inequity, nutrition access, social isolation, mental health issues, racial disparities, unemployment, unhoused families and individuals and disproportionately high costs of living.

Yet, the Y is here, as we have been for nearly a century and a half, as a welcoming third place between home and work or school — sometimes virtual, sometimes in person and always offering community connection, family support, healthful movement, personal growth and life-long learning.

For every stage in life, for all people, at all times, the YMCA is here.
