Discover Community Church is a non-denominational Christian church launched out of Jubilee Fellowship Church in January 2018.
In 2006, our Lead Pastors, Bob and Gabrielle Oldfield, were both in secular jobs. Shortly after becoming involved in a local church, they discovered a new passion for Jesus and a love for ministry. Jumping in as volunteers, they embraced all the opportunities and eventually moved into Associate Pastor roles at the Highlands Ranch campus of Jubilee Fellowship Church. Along with that move came openings into prison ministry and men’s and women’s ministry. The church continued to grow, and ultimately, they became Campus Pastors. After eleven years as part of Jubilee Fellowship Church, the campus model was eliminated, and the opportunity to take the next step, launching Discover Community Church, presented itself.
At Discover, we pray you feel secure here regardless of where you are in your faith. Secure to ask questions, have doubts, and seek out the truth. We want you to find YOUR passion for Jesus and His Word. We want you to have the chance to discover your gifts and use them. We want this church to bless our community through interaction and outreach and help our congregation build relationships that encourage and inspire.
No one has to take this journey alone!
Our goals for 2024:
- Expand our pantry by dedicating the space solely for pantry items. We can accomplish this by building an expansion to our existing shed.
- Hold our Farmer's Market Food Pantry event again this year to offer more fresh veggies and hard to get items to clients. Your giving would allow us to consider doing this more than just once during the summer.
- Help connect our congregation and their families and friends to more volunteer opportunities through Discover to other organizations or individuals who need physical help. Your donations help us to accomplish these efforts by providing resources for scheduling, transportation, tools, supplies, and supervisory oversight.
- Continue to donate space to small organizations and groups who can't afford to rent space for meetings, events, or gatherings. We accomplish this through donations that support our monthly expenses and therefore open up opportunities for gifted space.
- We would like to offer more free events for parents with small children. We understand how financially strapped families are and want to provide a safe space for them to have fun with their kids and not have to worry about funds. Your giving helps us to put together simple events like craft nights, Trunk or Treat, Easter Egg Hunts, movie nights, etc. These events have low overhead and are simple ways to provide special memories and family time.
- To provide free Bible study resources for those who cannot afford to purchase their own items. Ideally, we would like to provide an open signup to our coed study program and provide all the study guides so finances would not be an obstacle for someone to signup. Our prayer is that people who have never been part of a study before will give it try, feel comfortable answering questions, grow in their comfort and desire to read the Bible, and learn to love the Word of God for themselves.
