Durango Baseball & Softball (DBS) offers baseball and softball opportunities for all children in Durango and throughout southwest Colorado.
Have fun. Build community. Develop players.
Donations, grants and sponsorships awarded to DBS pay for: scholarships, subsidizing our 6U tee ball program to reduce barriers to begin playing softball and baseball, and facilities and equipment maintenance and upgrades. By giving to DBS, you can immediately provide opportunities and equitable access to better training and competition facilities.
Here's how we built our community in 2024:
- April: Opening Day welcomed all DBS players and their families to celebrate the start of the spring season at the LPC Fairgrounds baseball fields.
- May: We hosted the first ever local MLB Pitch, Hit & Run competition for 150 children from the Four Corners area.
- September: Intro to Softball clinic, in conjunction with Durango High School and Fort Lewis College Softball teams, helped players gain skills and learn from positive female role models.
- October: 1st Annual Community Wiffle Ball Tournament at LPC Fairgrounds baseball fields.
- Over 660 athletes played for Durango Baseball & Softball in 2024 and we welcomed 38 teams from surrounding communities to join us in league play.
- These events and partnerships serve to help children build relationships, gain new skills and take pride in belonging to a larger baseball and softball community.
In early 2024, we were able to use 2023 CO Gives Donations to improve the batting cages at A-LP fields. In 2025, we plan to continue improving field surfaces and batting cages in our community (specifically at Riverview), as well as light the fields at A-LP. That's right! With a generous in-kind donation of utility poles and installation from LPEA, we can bring Friday night lights to DBS! More player development opportunities! More fun! More community!
Playing baseball and softball can give every child a winning chance at life. Please donate today. Your contribution will help level the playing field.
