Estes Valley Investment in Childhood Success (EVICS) became an official nonprofit in 2005. It was created through grassroots volunteer advocacy by community members concerned by the limited and dwindling supply of services for young children in the Estes Valley, particularly for low-income families. A partnership with the Early Childhood Council of Larimer County (ECCLC) and grant funding from the Town of Estes Park allowed us to begin providing support and resources to licensed early childhood care providers and parents. In 2006, we opened an office, hired a director, and launched a unique local scholarship program, providing assistance to qualifying low-income families for access to licensed child care and education programs. Our team and services continued to grow. In 2019, EVICS became a Family Resource Center (FRC) . As an accredited FRC, EVICS is able to broaden our services to all families of the Estes Valley by using a strengths-based family-centered approach to improve health and well-being with goal setting and family development programming.
