Easterseals Colorado (ESC) is leading the way to full equity, inclusion, and access for people with disabilities, their families, and caregivers across Colorado by enhancing wellbeing, expanding employment, and elevating community.
For almost 100 years, ESC has worked tirelessly to enhance quality of life and expand statewide access to healthcare, education, and employment opportunities. And we will not stop until every one of us is valued, respected, and accepted.
ESC provides essential services and on-the-ground supports to more than 13,000 people each year. Through our programs and services, we are empowering people with disabilities, families, and communities to be full and equal participants in society. We work within four impact areas:
Enriching Education - At ESC, we believe that learning is a lifelong process. Our Employment and Training Program and Adult Day Programs emphasize continuing education and help to unlock the talents and potential of adults with disabilities.
Enhancing Health - ESC sees health holistically—and many of our programs enhance the overall health of people with disabilities. Our neurological rehabilitation program is one of the only options for continued out-patient rehabilitation for stroke and other brain injury survivors in the Denver area. Our Disability Benefits Services program helps individuals and their families navigate the benefits available to them, including health benefits. Our respite care program expands access to invaluable respite care that gives caregivers a break to replenish their mental and physical health.
Expanding Employment - We work with people with disabilities to identify their career goals, expand their skill sets, and secure jobs where they can thrive. We also consult employers on how to make workplaces inclusive of people with disabilities.
Elevating Community - Community is part of everything we do. We offer a variety of programs for children and adults with disabilities to connect with one another and thrive within their communities, including summer camps, adult day programs, and weekend activity clubs for kids.
Our why: We believe that everyone, regardless of disability should get to live fulfilling, vibrant lives.

Background Statement
Easterseals Colorado formed in 1926 as the result of a grassroots effort to help children with disabilities. Over time, our mission expanded. Today, Easterseals Colorado is dedicated to serving people of all ages living with disability. The organization has grown from a handful of concerned citizens to a leading direct service agency serving more than 13,000 individuals and their families annually.
As a vital resource for all people with disabilities, older adults and caregivers in rural and urban communities across the state, Easterseals Colorado provides programs and supports that enhance quality of life and create opportunities for greater independence.
