Update 9/5 5pm:
We have raised $60,000 in donations as of 5:00pm today! We just got word that the initial dollar for dollar matching funds have been depleted but the Daniels Fund has injected another $500,000 in matching funds. The additional $500,000 in matching funds will be allocated based on a % of total donations raised by all the participating entities between now and 9/30. Below are more details provided to us by Colorado Youth Sports Giving Day -
There has been a tremendous response to Youth Sports Giving Day, and over $1.5 million has already been raised to support youth sports across the state. The original $1 million in matching funds has been expended, but due to the enthusiasm for supporting youth sports, the Daniels Fund has added an additional incentive fund of $500,000. This fund will be distributed on a percentage basis to ensure every gift made through September 30 continues to make an impact. Let’s keep the momentum going!
Amplify Your Impact
Incentive Fund Every donation made after the original $1 million match fund was expended will be boosted by the additional $500,000 incentive fund.
How it works: All nonprofits receive a % of the fund equal to the % they raise for the Youth Sports Giving Day campaign (after the original match funds were expended). Raise 10%, get 10% of the incentive fund. The $250,000 match cap per organization still applies.
Example: For instance, if the total Youth Sports Giving Day campaign raises $3 million in donations, the additional incentive fund will be distributed based only on the $2 million raised after the original $1 million match was fully utilized. So, if Youth Nonprofit X raises $200,000 after the initial match is expended, they will receive 10% of the incentive fund at the end of the campaign. Organizations will still be capped at $250,000 in total matching funds, and donations that were already matched will not count toward their share of the incentive fund.
All match fund calculations are verified post-campaign after September 30 to ensure the most accurate disbursement of funds in mid-October to participating nonprofits.
We are very excited to share that our PTSA has partnered with Colorado Gives Day for the Inaugural Colorado Youth Sports Giving Day to raise the remaining funds for the EHS BLEACHERS!!!! This is an exciting opportunity for our PTSA to raise funds outside of our community. We will be celebrating Colorado Youth Sports Giving Day starting September 4th through September 30th, be sure to donate early as matching will happen until the matching fund is depleted.
The Bleacher Project cost is approximately $325,000. Our PTSA Bleacher Team has raised $92,000 to date and is looking to raise an additional $125,000 pre-match ($250,000 post-match) to complete funding for the new EHS BLEACHERS. EHS is the oldest public high school building in Jefferson County. Originally built in 1954 at its current location, the building has seen multiple additions, including a major renovation in the late 1990s that left the multi-purpose field in an even more confined space, fully surrounded by steep mountain slopes, with just a few yards separating it from the expanded main building.
In 2020, Phase I of the EHS Project Home Field ($650,364) brought much-needed new artificial turf to the field thanks to the successful Jeffco Public Schools district-wide ballot measure for a bond that prioritized upgrades across schools in Jefferson County.
In 2021, Phase II ($179,709) brought a new lighting system and parts dating back to the 1950s were finally replaced. The last remaining bond funding was devoted to the 69-year-old EHS building asbestos mitigation, so we relied on private donations and community members for this major achievement.
Now the final and most challenging phase remains: bleacher seating for families and visitors. With no bond or other funding from the school district available, we find ourselves once again working tirelessly in support of our student athletes, students, and community to improve our beloved school facilities through grit and determination.
