After a session on Self-Care one of our youth had an interview for a job. She got the job and told us afterwards that as she waited to speak to the employer she practiced one of the self-care skills we had worked on in Group the day before.

Background Statement
Mercy Ministries (now Embrace Mercy) was founded in 1986 by Fred & Karleen Dewey with a vision of hope for children and families in need. Over the years we have been involved in assisting needy children and families in Denver, northeastern Colorado, the Philippines and Romania.
In 1991 Fred and Karleen traveled to Romania with little more than a name on a piece of paper and discovered the devastating effects of decades of communism through the thousands and thousands of abandoned children. They made their way to a small town in northwest Romania and discovered a hospital where the babies were kept in an attic. The room was silent as the babies had learned that no one would answer their cries. This began a mission to care for and provide for these children.
As we came to realize the depth of the effect Early Childhood Trauma has had on our youth we developed and began implementing a trauma-healing, body-based program. We continue to provide this life changing programming and now offer training in our programming throughout Romania & the Denver Metro area for those who work with and care for trauma-impacted individuals.
